Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains precisely what is deleted, what is anonymised, what is retained for legal reasons, and what happens to the other parties in the care relationship when you delete your account.
Media files — no request required
Photos and videos captured in Gardspace are automatically and permanently purged after 48 hours — regardless of account status, and without any action required on your part. This is a Privacy by Design decision. No media file is retained beyond this period.
Family account deletion
What is deleted: your account, the Care Space, all session logs, Daily Reports, memories, child data (first name, date of birth, gender, profile photo), and all associated records. Deletion is permanent and in cascade — all data linked to the Care Space is removed.
Effect on the nanny: the nanny loses access to this Care Space immediately upon account deletion. However, her NTR (Nanny Track Record) is not impacted — it is her professional record and remains intact. Sessions previously documented in your Care Space continue to count in her cumulative record. She does not retain access to any content from your Care Space.
COPPA consent revocation: if you revoke your parental consent (COPPA or equivalent), deletion of the Care Space and all associated child data is triggered immediately — without a 30-day delay. The nanny loses access to the Care Space without prior notice in this scenario.
Nanny account deletion
What is deleted: your profile, declared information, NTR data visible to you, and your Gardspace account. Your access to all Care Spaces is revoked immediately.
What is anonymised — not deleted: your G-TRID is not entirely deleted. A cryptographic trace (anonymised hash of the G-TRID, issue date, and country code) is retained in our audit log for the purpose of maintaining the integrity of the professional identifier sequence. This trace contains no personal data and cannot be used to identify you. The G-TRID itself becomes NOTFOUND — it can no longer be verified and no personal information is returned upon lookup.
Effect on families: families retain full access to their Care Space history, including sessions you documented. This is consistent with the principle that the Care Space belongs to the family. Your name and profile are removed from the Care Space — your documented sessions remain as anonymised records within the family's history.
What is retained for legal reasons
Certain data required by French law for accounting and legal compliance may be retained beyond the 30-day deletion window — specifically, records related to subscription payments and billing. This data is retained for the legally required period (currently 10 years under French commercial law) and is never used for any other purpose.
Timeline of deletion
Access revocation: immediate upon account deletion or deletion request confirmation. You lose access to the application and your data the moment deletion is initiated.
Data deletion: personal data is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days of the deletion request. This delay accounts for backup purging and cascade deletion across our infrastructure.
Media files: automatically purged within 48 hours — no deletion request required or applicable.
Legal retention data: retained for the legally required period only, as described above.
How to request deletion
By email: send a deletion request to privacy@gardspace.com from the email address associated with your account. Include your name, role (Family or Nanny), and a clear request for account deletion. We will confirm receipt and initiate the process within 5 business days.
In-app: navigate to Settings → Account → Delete account. Your access is revoked immediately. Deletion of your data from our backend systems follows within 30 days. A confirmation email is sent upon completion.
